We are committed to ensuring everyone can access information on this website.

We consult with a variety of local community groups and the RNIB to better understand how to make our website as accessible as possible, including the use of assistive technology.

We aim to achieve the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) Level ‘AA’.

Web and accessibility standards

• Skip navigation – the use of the tab key to move around the website
• Logical navigation order – we have used evidence and testing to ensure our website navigation is easy and simple to use
• Our web pages have titles that clearly and plainly describe their topic or purpose
• Our content page structure is presented and maintained in a meaningful sequence
• Hyperlinks tell users where they will go next, and PDF links notify users a PDF will open and its file size
• We use alternative text to describe non-text content
• We use a clear contrast ratio
• Media size files do not generally exceed 200KB - where we need to make exceptions they do not exceed 500KB

Accessibility tool

Our website has an accessibility tool called Recite Me which allows you to change the language, font size and style, create audio or text files, enable screen masking and magnify content. You can access this by selecting the accessibility button in the top right-hand corner of the page.
